Welcome to the Spectacular Speculations book review section.  Books have long been a staple of speculative fiction. Today, most bookstores have a separate section for science fiction and fantasy, and some also have a block for horror. Many classic works of fiction fit into the speculative fiction genre.  Dracula and Frankenstein are clearly fantasy and science fiction stories. Lovecraft's stories are fantasies of a very different nature. Today we have hard SF, soft SF, dark fantasy, steampunk, cyberpunk, and a host of other styles under the umbrella of speculative fiction.
